Bio

Roy is a drummer with Glasgow-born bands Ultras, Hank Tree, Inspector Tapehead and dBass, regularly contributing to professional recordings, and performing in small venues and festival stages alike. His work with harp player Tristan Le Govic saw that band top the bill to some acclaim at The Dinan Harp Festival, Brittany in 2012.Roy later performed with The One Ensemble at the South Bank Centre in 2015 as part of their collaboration with Scottish Dance Theatre. He has also drummed in pit bands for over 120 pantomime performances at the Gaeity Theatre, Ayr.In 2016, Roy concluded a series of three solo performances with Kick, an energetic improvisation based around bass drums, mechanisms and light. He is also an aspiring tabla player, having studied in India under Paban Bordoloi and Subrata Manna (Mitu), and is learning to play the trombone.His drumming has been described in the music press as:
